Although Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced their divorce less than one week ago, entertainment and media outlets in Georgia and throughout the country have already begun to speculate on the reason for the split. One common theory is that jealousy and controlling behaviors on the part of one or both spouses created an unhappy union that, after seven years of marriage, became too much for Lopez and Anthony to take.

In the statement announcing their divorce, Lopez and Anthony stated that the decision to split was made jointly, indicating that they have reached an agreement regarding their property settlement and the child custody of their three-year-old twins, Max and Emme. "This was a very difficult decision," they said. "We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."

According to unnamed sources, Lopez made the decision to file for divorce after putting up with Anthony's repeated efforts to control both her personal and professional life. "He would micromanage their lives together...he would hover over her," an 'insider' said, adding that Lopez fought to make the marriage work, to no avail. "She tried very hard, and for a long time, to act like it didn't bother her, but I know it did."

However, another unnamed source said that the jealous behavior went both ways, with Lopez reportedly expressing her discomfort with Anthony's relationship with his ex-wife and the mother of his children, Dayanara Torres.

Regardless of their personal split, it appears that Lopez and Anthony will remain together professionally. They are reportedly continuing work on their international talent show "¡Q'viva! The Chosen" and their upcoming retail apparel and accessories lines with Kohl's.
